In the words of Yoda….
“Do or Do not. There is no try.”
Well, made counts did Jack, so he’s checked into the Christmas with Yoda Room for the week. Maybe they can update for Easter with Yoda instead while we are here.
He’s tolerating chemo well, all things considered. The inpatient infusions keep him extremely well-hydrated and nausea-free thanks to big doses of Zofran and fluids in addition to the chemo drugs and other medicines in the extra special Ewing’s cocktail. No appetite and very hard to sleep but all to be expected with the medicines and necessary interruptions of a hospital stay-vitals, doctor visits, etc. every hour. He can hardly wait to check out and roll into his own bed.
All in all another boring week and, as stated in a previous post, boring hospital stays are good.
The BIG news of the week—the results from the mid-treatment MRI and CT scans are very encouraging. The soft tissue mass has virtually collapsed and bone lesion has decreased about 50% in size. This is GREAT NEWS all around. We are all doing a happy dance on the 6th floor at Children’s.
Surgery likely in first half of April if Jack continues through the remaining treatments without any hiccups through the month of March. Four leaf clover wishes on that front ☘️☘️☘️☘️! Or according to Yoda: “Patience you must have, my young Padawan.” We’ll pass along details once we have any plans confirmed.
Thank you for all of the continued positive notes, texts, calls, out of town visits (thank you Lucas! Mimi!), rounds of golf with friends. We feel your support and love and it means the world to us . ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I got a little behind on my Jack updates, but know that I al belatedly celebrating all this positive news! The force is with you!! Xoxo
Great news. Sending all the four leaf clovers and lighting our copal. 🍀💚💨
